Home and Small Office

Not everyone has a home office. And it's not always a typical space. Sometimes, it's a desk in your kitchen or a filing cabinet in your pantry. Wherever it is, this is the hub of your household. It's where you keep the workings of your house and family: receipts, bills, medical information, school papers. Intensely private and vital documents, such as insurance papers, wills and licenses. Often, people don't have systems in place to sort this material. These systems can help create simplicity in a sense of urgency, where you always know where things are. A strong filing system gives your family a sense of security and safety. I call it the "grab and go" approach: when something happens, you can grab what you need and go.

On the other hand, a small office can indeed be within a home or within a small business. And this space has challenges of its own.
